About International Services

Whether it's feeding the world's most vulnerable when war or famine strike or helping prisoners of war keep in touch with their families, the American Red Cross is there, working to ease human suffering around the globe.

In accordance with the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, we share a unity of purpose and vision with Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations encircling the globe, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, 176 recognized national societies, and the Magen David Adom in Israel.

The American Red Cross is a major part of this global network and supports humanitarian relief work worldwide, responding to appeals to provide relief services for people in need because of both natural and man-made disasters, including armed conflicts.

Here you will find information about the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the many services we can provide to our residents and different opportunities for you to get involved in our International Services programs.

If you are an educator, we are very excited to offer a variety of materials you can use in your classes. If you have any questions about this information, or you would like to schedule a free presentation about any of the topics presented here,
please send an e-mail to micheled@mfcarc.org.
