 The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer, this position is responsible for the planning, coordinating and executing Special Events, identifying and applying for grant funding and works with the development team in achieving the financial development goals. This position supports the mission, vision, strategic direction and promotes awareness and visibility of the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross.   Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 4 - 5 yrs of experience in financial development, coordinating special events, grant writing and solicitation. WANTED: Director of Emergency Services

The Mid-Fairfield County chapter of the American Red Cross seeks a motivated and team-oriented individual who can work effectively with the chapter management team, volunteers and Emergency Services department staff to implement the Chapters Disaster plan, which includes response, preparedness, and recovery and is responsible for major incident preparedness and response planning.

The Director of Emergency Services plans, organizes, directs, implements and evaluates Disaster Services, Service to Armed Forces and International Services Programs. Serves as a liaison to emergency management at the local, county and state level as well as to other community based groups and organizations.

The Emergency Services Director coordinates with volunteer leadership in accordance with Red Cross policies and procedures and is responsible for volunteer leadership evaluation, training and development. Supervises direct reports and provides coordination and support to volunteers and coordinates activities with other departments within the Chapter.

The Emergency Services Director assures the Chapter complies with all American Red Cross standards of performance, and represents the Chapter in public speaking engagements.

 WANTED:  Director of Development and Communications

 The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Crossprovides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.We are seeking a creative, highly motivated and team oriented Director of Development and Communications who can operationalize the strategic plan set forth by the Board of Directors related to Chapter financial development, communication and marketing. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
 
The Director of Development and Communications is responsible for annual fund, major gifts, corporate support, and direct marketing campaigns. This position directly supervises and manages the Development Manager and the Manager of Communications. This role is accountable for promoting awareness and visibility of the American Red Cross and Mid-Fairfield County Chapter. The Director of Development and Communications oversees special events and the grant writing functions. This position also oversees external communications and acts as the primary contact and “gatekeeper” for all external communications. 
 
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus 5 -7 years experience in financial development, including grant writing, special events, annual campaigns and management experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in raising significant charitable gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations and will have media and communications experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fundraising methods and laws pertaining to fundraising, gift acknowledgement and recording. Proficiency in data base management required, Raiser’s Edge a plus.
